Project: HiCAD Sheet Metal

Overview of Functions

Sheet Metal

HiCAD Sheet Metal is a powerful CAD module for the processing of sheet metal parts in 3-D. The universal data structure allows optional access to all available HiCAD modules. This universality between 2-D, 3-D and typical sheet parts provides graphical interactive support to the user in depicting his construction as a volume model. For example, special sheet functions for generating and processing are available in addition to the accustomed 3-D HiCAD basic functions such as file structure (part or body structure), Boolean operations and cutting and boring. The user can check and correct the progress of his work in the standard 3-D representations (glass body, shaded, list view etc.). This allows a convenient, detailed analysis of geometrically most complicated structures.

The prerequisite for using HiCAD Sheet Metal is the 3-D Basic Module.

As the system has a modular structure, the complete functionality may not be available to you.

The chapters in this Help are structured according to the functions groups of the Sheet Metal tab.

You activate the Sheet Metal tab by clicking the appropriate entry on the Ribbon or by clicking a sheet metal part in your drawing. If you right-click a sheet part, the context menu containing the processing functions for the selected part appears. You will then no longer be prompted to make an identification.

On the 3-D Standard tab you find the following functions for the processing of Sheet Metal parts:
