Exploded View (3-D)

HiCAD allows an automatic generation of so-called "exploded" layouts. For this to happen, the active view is converted into an exploded view, which shows the individual parts of a model in "dismantled state" - if required, with mounting tracks. The dismantling is based on a moving and/or rotating of the parts. Exploded views are saved, together with the geometry, in the SZA file. Since all movements and rotations are recorded in an "explosion log", they can be changed at any time.

Example of an exploded view (some of the lids have been hidden her)

To convert the active view into an exploded view you have the following options:

After calling one of the above functions you will switch into the Exploded view mode. If the active view is already an exploded view, the corresponding transformations will be shown in the Exploded view docking window. If not, the active view will be converted into an exploded view.

Proceed as follows to define an exploded view:

  1. Load the desired model drawing.
  2. Create a new view for the exploded layout and activate this view.
  3. Call the Exploded view function.
  4. HiCAD switches into the Exploded view mode . In this mode you can define the desired displacements and rotations in the Move and/or Rotate dialogue windows.
  5. After defining the exploded view, click End to leave the exploded view mode again.

All displacements and rotations of the exploded view will be logged. This log will be shown in theExploded view docking window. Here you can also change transformations of the exploded view subsequently.
