HiCAD 2012 - New in 2-D
HiCAD creator: Increased number of 2-D elements
In the basic module HiCAD creator the maximum number of possible 2-D points has been increased from 2,000 to 10,000.
Please note:
The number of 2-D points displayed when you select
Help Topics and Information > Drawing can in fact be much higher than 10,000. This is because this function also counts 2-D points that can belong to 3-D views displayed in 2-D, dimensions, axes, centre lines, etc. These points will not be considered for the calculation of the maximum elements in the HiCAD creator. Therefore the Help Topics and Information > Drawing option cannot be used as a reference here (SP2).
Revision clouds
Revision clouds can now be inserted as main parts or sub-parts. (SP2)
Delete functions
- The new Delete list function enables you to create a list of graphical elements by identifying them with the cursor. Identified elements will be marked permanently. Right-click to end element identification. An OK, YES/NO query will be displayed. Select YES to delete all elements. In contrast to the Delete GE function, UNDO restores all deleted elements at once. (SP2)
Part creation
- In the redesigned GUI, the 2-D->3-D Level->Body function has been moved to 3-D Standard > New > Extruded solid
> 2-D->3-D Level->Body.
Scale text
- The new Scale functions enable you to scale texts through specification of a scaling factor. This can, for example, be useful during the reading of DWG files: If a DWG file with a 1:1 scale is read in, and the scale is subsequently changed to 1:20, the texts will not be scaled together with the drawing. The new functions enable you to adjust the text height.
Text Editor and Annotation Editor
- The Use attributes of the product structure can now be displayed in annotations. Precede the attribute name in brackets with the string %DBVA(ATTRIBUTENAME). Please note that no automatic updating of the tags will be performed if the data are changed. (SP2)
- The HiCAD drawing attributes, too, can be displayed in annotations. To do this, precede the attribute name in brackets with the string %SA(ATTRIBUTENAME). Please note that no automatic updating of the tags will be performed if the data are changed. (SP2)
- Bullet lists and numbered lists (SP1)
When copying texts from RTF files or the clipboard to HiCAD, bullet lists, numbered lists and indents will be taken over as well.
Before you insert the text, HiCAD asks you whether tab stops and indents are to be represented as blank spaces. In the Annotation Editor, texts that have been separated by tab stops will be arranged in columns when they are taken over. It can therefore make sense to replace the tab stops by blank spaces.
- CSV files can now be loaded and saved in the Text Editor and the Annotation Editor. When loading texts from RTF files (texts and annotations) even different formattings within a line will be considered, except for subscripted and superscripted text.
- You can now explicitly specify the column width for tabular annotations.
- You can now specify the size of the symbol at the end of a leader line, e.g. an arrowhead. The size of the arrow will be saved together with the drawing, thus ensuring that the geometry of the symbols will be retained, irrespective of the workstation on which they are used.
- In the POS3DPARNEU.DAT file, you can now preset, besides the symbol length, the angle or the width as default values.
- You can now select texts between the active field and a selected texts in the Annotation Editor via SHIFT+left-click.
