Project: HiCAD GUI Creator
Customer-specific Dialogues - Procedure
How to create a new dialogue
Installation elements
To create a new dialogue, proceed as follows:
- Create the geometry of your installation element in HiCAD and assign the desired variable to it.
- Save the installation element to the catalogue Factory standards > Installation Planning - Parts and Processings > Element installation > Installation elements.
- Export the variables of the installation element as CSV file. You will need this file for the Dialogue Editor.
- Start the HiCAD Dialogue Editor and create a new file there by importing the previously created CSV file .
- You fill and configure your dialogue by dragging the variables into the dialogue and adding further Toolbox objects if required. Then, save the dialogue. A dialogue archive file in the format .ISDGUI will then be created. This file contains:
- the dialogue in the XML format,
- the images required for the dialogue, and
- a file called UnusedCollectionData.dat with a list of all variables that are not used in the user dialogue.
- To use the dialogue, enter the name of the dialogue archive in the DIALOG column in the table of the corresponding installation element in the Catalogue Editor.
Railing components
To create a new dialogue, proceed as follows:
- Create the geometry of your railing component in HiCAD and assign the desired variable to it.
- Save the railing component. To do this, open the Civil Engineering functions docking window and choose Steel Engineering > Stairs + Railings > Variant Editor for railings.
- Start the HiCAD Dialogue Editor and create a new file there by importing the previously created CSV file.
Editing existing dialogues
Case 1:
You have created the dialogue with a version before HiCAD 2019 SP2, i.e. a corresponding XML or ZIP file exists.
- Import the file to the HiCAD GUI Creator.
- Check your dialogue and, if required, modify it. When importing the file it may happen that fields are marked with the
symbol and the message Duplicate. The reason for this is that in the HiCAD GUI Creator, variables and images may be used only once in a dialogue ,so you may have to adapt existing dialogues accordingly.
- Save the dialogue in the format .ISDGUI.
Case 2:
You have created the dialogue using the HiCAD GUI Creator.
- Open the corresponding .ISDGUI file.
- Modify the dialogue as desired.
- Save the dialogue in the format .ISDGUI.
