Pipe Parts: Reducers
Plant Engineering > New > Pipe parts > Reducer
- the option Ignore nominal diameter is set and
- a nominal diameter has been preset for the pipeline into which the part will be fitted, or for the guideline onto which the part will be placed,
the following functions are available for an interactive fitting of one or several reducers:

Connect all required reducers for the complete active pipeline automatically |
If the symbol appears next to a function, this function is not available.
Concentric reducers allow the creation of branchings by means of saddle connections or pipes with smaller diameters, via cylindrical sections ending in a connecting surface. Click here for further information.
Automatic reducer connection
Plant Engineering > New > Pipe parts > Reducer > Connect automatically
Identify the connecting point for the reducer first.
The nominal diameter of the part connection and the nominal diameter of the pipeline, respectively guideline c-edge, will automatically be used as search criteria for the reducer. The reducer will be connected in the correct direction automatically.
Example:
- Part type: Reducer
- Type of insertion: Connect automatically
- Ignore nominal diameter
- AutoFlange
- AutoReducer
(1) DN50, (2) specification for pipeline DN100
Connect all required reducers to one part automatically
Plant Engineering > New > Pipe parts > Reducer > Connect 2 reducers
First identify the part to which you want to connect the reducers.
The nominal diameter of the individual part connection and the nominal diameter of the pipeline, respectively guideline c-edge, will automatically be used as search criteria for the reducer. The reducer will be connected in the correct direction automatically. If the selected part has flange connections, and if the appropriate flanges have been inserted already, the reducers will be connected to the flanges.
Examples:
- Part type: Reducer
- Type of insertion: Connect 2 reducers
- Ignore nominal diameter
- AutoFlange
- AutoReducer
(1), (3) Specification for guideline DN100, (2) DN 300, (4) DN200
(1) Specification for pipeline DN100, (2) DN50
Connect all required reducers for the complete active pipeline automatically
Plant Engineering > New > Pipe parts > Reducer > Connect all
The nominal diameter of the individual part connection and the nominal diameter of the pipeline, respectively guideline c-edge, will automatically be used as search criteria for the reducer. The reducer will be connected in the right direction automatically. All parts which are not part of a pipeline, but which are connected at the beginning or the end of a guideline c-edge will be respected (e.g. nozzle in vessel).
Example:
- Part type: Reducer
- Type of insertion: Connect all
- Ignore nominal diameter
- AutoFlange
- AutoReducer
(1) Specification for pipeline DN100, (2) DN50, (3) nozzle DN200 (does not belong to pipeline)
