- Guideline mode ON
Use the crosshairs to specify the position of the clamp on the centre line of a straight pipe. - Guideline mode OFF
First, identify the pipe to which the clamp should be attached. Next, use the crosshairs to specify the position of the clamp on the centre line of the pipe.
Important:
When you insert a pipe clamp (or multi-pipe clamp) , you need to distinguish between
- pipe clamps having the outer diameter attributes D_AUSSEN and D2_AUSSEN, and
- pipe clamps having only the outer diameter attribute D_AUSSEN.
If both attributes exists, the Also use Outer diameter 2 as search criterion for pipe clamps checkbox on the Part search tab of the Plant Engineering Settings dialogue window needs to be active.
Special named isolated points for multi-pipe clamps
As with all parts of the type Pipe clamp, the reference point for insertion is the isolated point with the designation 1 for multi-pipe clamps. After insertion, this point will be located on the centre axis of the "first" pipe that is held by the clamp. Other named isolated points determine the position of the centre axes for the other pipes has are fixed with the clamp: 802 for the second pipe, 803 for the third pipe etc. Point 2 is an auxiliary point which is needed for the alignment of the clamp during its insertion.
The points 802, 803 etc. can also be use for the Rotate part function:
