Create New View

Views > New

You can access the functions for defining and deriving new views

via the New function group of the Views tab, or
via the context menu for views, by right-clicking on an existing view in the drawing, or
via the transparent toolbar.

Whether a model view or a sheet view is created depends on the type of view that is active when you call the corresponding function.

Function
	Standard - New view Defines a new view (without link)
	4 standard views Creates in one step the front view, the axonometric view and two other views. Preset have been the side view, from left and the top view. This pre-setting can be specified in the Configuration Editor, at Drawing > Views - Views in "4 views" function.
	New view, horizontal/vertical Derives the views in horizontal or vertical direction from the existing view of a 3-D model directly with the mouse.
	Copy 3-D view Use this function to create a copy of the active 3-D view.
	New list view... HiCAD allows you to define so-called "list views" and to display only the parts mentioned in these lists in the view. Such views are called HiCAD list views.
	New sectional view Creates sectional views, either with or without marking of the section path.
	New detail view Displays details of the drawing, enlarged in a new view.

Clicking opens a menu with further functions.

When a new drawing is created, the first view is defined automatically. This is the view that is set as a default in the Start Centre.
