Create Base Sheet 

Sheet Metal > New

The New menu provides various functions for creating a new sheet part, e.g. as a

• main part or
• sub-part

from a 3-D body or a 2-D development. To create a base sheet as a sub-part, you need to create a main assembly with a subordinate assembly. If the assembly is then active, the base sheet is subordinated to the assembly once you have selected the Sub-part function (Sheet Metal > New > Base ). If you select the Create base sheet (main part) function, the sheet will be at the same level in the structure as the assembly.

If the main assembly is active, main parts and sub-parts are subordinated at the same level. If the main part is active, the sub-part functions for base sheets are deactivated. In terms of managing the data and creating bills of material, we recommend working with the assembly structure.
