Open the Product Explorer tab in HELiOS to view the product structure. Right-click to open a context menu with various editing functions:

Add top article (to window) |
The top article is the article the structure of which is to be displayed. |

Remove top article (from window) |
Removes the marked element (in this case the top article) from the view. |
|
Reserve item |
The marked item in the product structure will be set to "edited" mode. This is only possible for the current revision of an assembly; for older revisions a corresponding message will be displayed. |
|
Apply item edits |
Unlocks the previously locked, edited item and applies the changes. |
|
Cancel item editing |
Unlocks the previously locked, edited item, but without applying the changes. |
|
Show article |
Opens the article detail window with its editing functions. |
|
Edit article master |
Opens the article detail window in the editing mode (analogous to the Enter article dialogue). Article attributes can be changed there. Confirm and close the window with OK. |

Show item |
Displays the detail window for parts with its editing functions. |
|
Edit item |
Allows you to change the usage attributes (e.g. Quantity per item). |
|
Switch utilized article index |
Allows you to load an older index of the article into the product structure. |
|
Add to favourites |
Adds the marked object(s) to the Favourites window. |
Assignments |

Remove from product structure |
Removes the marked object from the product structure. |

Enter item (via Find article) |
Use these functions to select articles from the database or add new articles in order to assign a usage attribute. Enter item (via Find article) enters articles from the database via the Find article mask; Enter item (via Enter article) allows you to enter a new article via the article data input mask. For both functions you can specify in the usage attribute window whether the article is a spare part. To view the usage attribute of an article, mark it and select Show item. To change the usage attribute of an article, mark the article and select Edit item. |

Creates a copy of the item with new article master. |

Output to Report Manager |
When you output the product structure as a BOM to the ReportManager, you are enabled to configure the BOM, assign various sorting criteria and export to different formats, e.g. Excel, HTML. |

Output to Report Manager, new window |
Opens an additional window, allowing a comparison of several product structures. |
|
Output to new document |
Creates a new document will be created, to which the product structure will be saved as an RM3 file. The document data input mask will be displayed. |

Output to existing document |
This function enables you to update data in an existing document. The document search mask will be displayed. |
|
Output structure versions |
When you activate this function a dialogue will be displayed in which two product structures are juxtaposed. |

Call report |
If so-called HDE reports have been defined, use this function to call them for the desired HELiOS object. If only one report exists in the system, it will be called instantly; if there are several reports, a selection dialogue will be displayed. If no reports exist for the corresponding object type, an appropriate message will be displayed. In this context, please also read the Notes on Configuration of HDE Reports. |

Cut |
Enables you to cut a product in order to paste it in a different location. |

Copy |
Enables you to copy a project in order to paste it in a different location. |
|
Paste |
Use this function to paste a product that had been copied to the clipboard. After Cut/Copy &Paste of the product with Drag & Drop the "new" product will be marked and active. When copying or moving a sub-product to the main product by Drag & Drop, the project can be placed at the end of the product tree or in the empty space to the right. A confirmation query will be shown before the final modification is made. |
View |

|
Update |
Use this function to update the product structure after a modification if this has not happened automatically. This process will, for example, , be necessary, after Cut and Paste. |
|
Use this function to specify the icon size in the product structure. The current size is indicated by a point. |
|
|
With this function you determine which attributes are to be shown in the product tree and in which order (as for the product structure). |
Please note:
In older HELiOS versions you first needed to put a product structure item into the "edited state" by selecting Edit assembly before any changes could be applied. Now, e.g. when dragging a part into the Product Explorer, in will be put into the edited state automatically, i.e. its explicit preselection is no longer required.
