In the Ribbon, select the 2-D Part tab containing the functions for the processing of 2-D parts. Otherwise, you have the following selection options:

On the Drawing tab you can find the following functions for 2-D part processing:

Object Snap Identification Mode

on transparent toolbar:

In most cases, you can also use the context menu to call the functions with Object Snap mode.

The identification mode that is active is displayed in the top left main bar of the menu. There, you can switch between the different modes by clicking the icon.

If you move the cursor over your drawing, the object nearest to the current cursor position is selected in the object snap. This may be a part, but can also be a dimensioning or text. If you then press the right mouse button, the part becomes the active object, with a context menu containing the functions relevant for processing this part being displayed

Extended Part Selection

In the context menu for processing parts, you will find the Extended selection function, which you can use to affect the current part selection. Once you have activated it, the following options are available in the window that appears:

Choose this option button if you want to select several parts for processing. Use the mouse to select the parts you want in the drawing, and then click the Activate button.

Here, the superordinate part of the active part is searched. Activate the option button, and click Search. The part structure is then searched for the superordinate part. The found part is displayed. Repeated activation enables you to go one step higher in the structure. Click Activate to apply the part.

The part is selected via its name. Enter the name in the input field, and click the Activate button.

In addition, if the Extended selection window is active, the following options are available:

The parts you have selected are highlighted in colour in the drawing and in the ICN.

If Extended Part Selection is active, you can also right-click to select the part to be processed in the ICN. The Part Selection window is then closed and the part selected in the ICN becomes the active part.

Find Part

This function provides you with a convenient search tool. You can call the function via the ICN.

Choose the search criteria you want by activating/deactivating the relevant checkbox. The text input fields also allow the standard placeholders * and ? to be entered.

The BOM-relevant checkbox enables you to restrict the search to parts included/not included in the BOM.

If the checkbox is not active, the BOM relevance is not taken into account when searching the parts.

If the checkbox is active, the system searches for the BOM-relevant parts.

If the checkbox is active, but has reduced colour intensity, the system searches for the parts that are not relevant for the parts list. You achieve this activation by re-clicking the activated checkbox.

Start the search by clicking the Start search button.

All the parts that fulfil the search criteria selected are displayed on the right-hand side of the search mask.

For each part in the results list, you can display a graphic preview of the part and the attributes assigned to it via the Preview and Part attributes tabs.

You can use the right mouse button to process and activate the parts displayed in the results list directly in the search mask.

All selected parts will be highlighted and can then be processed
