Part Structure (2-D)

2-D Part > New > Main assembly

It is absolutely essential for more complex drawings that data is logically structured. HiCAD makes this possible by subdividing the drawing into main parts and sub-parts. You can supplement this part structure by means of a main assembly. An overview of the part structure is always displayed in the Information + Communication Navigator (ICN).

Use the following functions to process part structures in HiCAD:

Function

Description

This function enables you to convert a sub-part into an independent main part.

You use this function to subordinate any parts you like to the active part.

  1. After identifying the main part, choose the function.
  2. Now identify the parts that you want to subordinate to the previously identified main part.
  3. Right-click to end the function.

Enter the name of the new main part and select the parts to be subordinated. The subordinated levels of the parts are also moved to the new main part.

This function breaks up the first sub-part level of the activated part. It does not matter which level the activated part is located on. The drawing elements of the sub-part level are integrated into the superordinate part.

All sub-parts of a superordinate part are broken up. It does not matter which level the part is on. The drawing elements of the sub-part levels are integrated into the superordinate part.

Only the activated part is broken up and its drawing elements integrated into the superordinate part.

The active part is deleted without subordinate sub-parts. The sub-parts are placed one level higher in the structure.

All parts below the active level are deleted. The part on the active level is preserved.
