Insert Part (2-D)

Drawing > Insert Part 

Use this function group to insert main parts or sub-parts. The main part is located on the first level below the drawing, the sub-part below the active part.

When fitting the parts, a distinction is made between:

Here, a part can have up to three fitting points for which you are prompted during fitting. The part may be distorted.

Here, fitting with moving, rotation, similarity or affinity transformation is made available. Depending on your choice, you will need to enter up to three fitting point pairs, first on the part and then on its counterpart in the drawing.

Objects (e.g. Excel tables, pixel files or texts) from the Windows clipboard can be pasted with the key combination CTRL+V. If you paste an Excel table into the Annotation Editor, you can edit the table there if desired. If you insert the parts directly into the drawing, they will be handled like auxiliary parts.

 

 

 

Use this function to insert parts from standard part catalogues are inserted into the drawing. These may be 2-D/3-D parts or variants assigned to a catalogue.

If you want to assign 2-D or 3-D parts to a catalogue, choose the Save as 2-D part with catalogue entry option when saving the part.

You need the HELiOS database to be able to work with this function. You need to have saved the part to be inserted beforehand with Master Document.

This function inserts DXF files that have been saved with other programs or HiCAD into the current drawing.

Please note:

When reading DXF, DWG or MI files into HiCAD 2-D, colours outside the HiCAD colour palette (System colours <40) will be distributed among unused system colours.
