HELiOS Spooler

The HELiOS Spooler is used to centrally control the output of documents via printers or plotters and for converting files.

The HELiOS Spooler manages the print jobs of the individual HELiOS Clients.

This is where:

• settings for the output formats are made,
• parameters of the output devices are determined, and
• print jobs are logged.

The processing of a print job with the Spooler is carried out as follows:

1. A print job is transferred to the HELiOS Spooler via the HELiOS Desktop or the application linked to HELiOS.
2. In the process, HELiOS is used to transfer the corresponding print and plot job configurations to the Spooler from the Client side. 
3. The HELiOS Spooler monitors and processes the print jobs.

All information about the output devices is managed by the HELiOS Spooler. Output devices do not necessarily have to be set up on the workstation.
