Assemblies
An assembly with the Article number Stairway will be created for the staircase, which contains the sub-assemblies Accessory parts and Segment. The Accessory parts assembly contains all boltings, the Segment assembly contains the beams for stringers, steps and platforms, including the weld seams. For staircases with one intermediate platform there will be two Segment assemblies - one for the components from the entrance up to and including the intermediate platform, and one for the components up to the landing.
Feature log
The Feature log entry for a staircase is called Stairway.
Reworking of stairs
To rework a staircase that has been created with the Staircase Configurator, double-click the Stairway item in the Feature log.
Usages assigned to assemblies
The following usages are assigned to the assemblies of the staircase:

BOM-relevance of assemblies
The BOM-relevance of the assemblies generated by the Staircase Configurator can be specified in the Configuration Editor (isdconfigeditor.exe) at Steel Engineering > Products > Stairs - separately for
- staircase assemblies
- segment assemblies and
- component assemblies.
The default settings are as follows:
If you deactivate the BOM-relevance of the component assemblies here, the Staircase Configurator will not define any assemnbly main parts.
Updating / changing of staircases
- From HiCAD 2017 onwards the updating of stairs and railings with deleted parts will no longer be possible. However, this concerns only staircases and railings that have been created with HiCAD 2017 (Version 2200) or higher.
- Stairs created with older versions (as of Version 2101.0) can be updated or changed if you have subsequently deleted parts that were created by the corresponding variant. However, these deleted parts will be re-created upon updating if these are required due to the parameters and the geometrical situation.
