Example: Create Parts with Connection Parameters - Step 7
Step 7: Plan second bore for asbestos cement panel
- Select the Asbestos cement panel again.
- Choose Civil Engineeering functions > Element installation > Repeat connection processing.
- Select, as in Step 4, the bore beneath Feature. Choose a Total quantity of 2 and, as the Connection geometry, choose the connection geometry of the asbestos cement panel.
- Click OK to create a copy of the bore.
- As this bore is to be applied to the second intersection point, you need to use
connection[2]
instead ofconnection[1]
here. As a result, the formula for the processing plane is nowconnection[2].connect_coor
, accordingly, and the formula for the Condition must belength(connection)>=2
, respectively, to ensure that this bore will only be applied if there are at least 2 bores. The first bore remains unchanged.
- Save the part to the catalogue as described and update the element installation and the connection as described in the previous paragraphs.
Now, bores will be automatically placed into the two intersection points. However, these are now located centrally on the T-beam. A more aesthetic solution would involve a minimal lateral displacement, and maybe a placing of 2 bores per intersection point to allow a fixing of the plate slightly to the side of the centre.
Next step: Plan staggered bores
