The Metal Engineering tab of the HiCAD Ribbon provides the Metal Engineering, 2-D and LogiKal, 2-D function groups for design tasks in 2-D.

The Metal Engineering, 2-D function group consists of the menus Foils, Change and Sheet, including their respective sub-menus.

Select the Attr. (Define cross-section properties) function in the Metal Engineering, 2-D function group to assign part attributes to a cross-section. After selecting the function, identify the desired cross-section object in the drawing, whereupon the mask for part attributes will be displayed.

Change
	Change symbol width	Call the function, then identify a composite edge. In the appearing dialogue you can change the thickness factor of the foil.
	Change symbol stretching	Call the function, then identify a composite edge. In the appearing dialogue you can change the stretch factor of the foil.
	Swap reference	Call the function and select the composite edge for which you want to "invert" the reference side for the foil.

Sheet
	Sheet	When you call the function, a dialogue window is displayed, enabling you to specify further properties of the sheet you want to insert, such as Sheet thickness, Radius, Colour and (fitting) Direction.
	Distance plate	Creates a distance plate (support element) between two parts. In the dialogue, you can specify Height and Width individually or Pick diagonal points in drawing. If required, you can also define colours and a Fitting angle. Specify whether you want the part to be a Main part or a Sub-part.
