Overview of Functions (ManBIM)

The functions for the Steel Engineering Drawing Management solution can be found on the Management + BIM tab of the Ribbon. If this tab does not appear on the Ribbon, select Settings > Ribbon categories and activate the Management + BIM checkbox.

The tab is made up of the following function groups:

Project

Create, Activate, Edit projects

Drawing (New, Article, Save...)

Create, Load, Save drawings; referencing of parts

Drawing (MntDrw, Drawing, Checkup...)

Automatic itemisation of parts; Create, Update/Add parts to production drawings and mounting drawings; checking of drawings, release of drawings and changing of released drawings

Production

BOM generation and export of parts and drawings

HELiOS PDM functions for active drawing

Editing of article and document attributes; updating of title blocks

HELiOS PDM functions for active part

Editing of article and masters; Find/Open linked documents

All functions on the Management + BIM tab are largely similar to the same-named standard functions in HiCAD and HELiOS. Extensive information on the HELiOS PDM functions can be found in the HELiOS in HiCAD Online Help. The HELiOS Desktop Online Help provides extensive information on the HiCAD functions in the corresponding sections of the Online Help, such as HiCAD Steel Engineering or HiCAD 3-D.

Please note:

If you want to change the workstation or user configuration subsequently, select Start > All programs > ISD Software und Systeme > Administration > User Parameter Configurator or Computer Parameter Configurator, respectively.

Please also read the notes given in the Management + BIM Settings in the Configuration Editor topic.

If the Drawing Management functionality in HiCAD is active, the HELiOS functions for the saving of drawings without article master are inactive. Newly created HELiOS items must always have a article master and document master and need to be assigned to a project.
