Supported File Formats

The following file formats can be opened with the HiCAD Viewer:

HiCAD Drawings (SZA, SZX)

HiCAD SZA files can be displayed entirely, i.e. including 2-D and 3-D parts, in the HiCAD Viewer.

The special, highly optimised exchange format (SZX) enables a quick display of HiCAD 3-D models in the Viewer. To save HiCAD files in this format with the Save as option, select in HiCAD the file type .SZX. You can choose between the basic Viewer format and the Viewer format with HiCAD attributes. If you want to display the part structure as well as the assembly structure and the part attributes in the Viewer, select the latter option.

HiCAD Parts/Assemblies (FIG, KRA, KRP)

2-D parts saved as independent files, as well ,as 3-D parts and assemblies can also be opened with the HiCAD Viewer.

All common image file formats (BMP, JPG, GIF, TIF and PNG) and Enhanced Windows Metafiles (.EMF)

Please note:

The representation of the Viewer window and the respective active functions are dependent on the currently loaded file format.
Drawings which were created with older HiCAD versions (SZN) can only be displayed in the viewer if they contain shaded 3-D models. Glass models or 2-D objects are not displayed. To ensure a realistic representation of the 3-D models, the user needs to be additionally provided with a corresponding material file.
The former Viewing Exchange Format (GFIG) can still be opened.
