Project: Drawing Management
The Management + BIM Ribbon has been renamed to Drawing Management.
The settings in the Configuration Editor can be found under PDM > Drawing Management.
The automatic updating and creation of drawings can now also be restricted via parts filters. For example, you can search for specific beams or plates and update/create drawings only for these parts.
Two new functions are available for this at Drawing Management > Workshop > Drawing:
Via filter with HELiOS selection
After calling the functions, the Part filter dialogue window is displayed.
Detailed information about the part filters can be found here.
A corresponding template for attribute assignment is now also available for manually created drawings:
BIM_PDM_ManualDrawingnumberGeneration.ftd.
This template can be used to configure drawing numbers of manually created drawings. The number is assigned to the HELiOS attribute Drawingnumber_text.
The default setting is: M - {HEL_PROJNUMMER (Project)}-{DRAWINGNUMBER (Document master)}.
The View scale and the Sheet name can now also be output in the title block in the Drawing Management. It is not necessary to change the file schrfe_aus_Attr.dat or wsd_titleblock.dat - as is the case when working without Drawing Management - but it is sufficient to adjust the title blocks in the drawing frames by using the variable belonging to the respective special attribute in the title block.
The following special attributes are available:
Output |
Attribute |
Variable in HiCAD title block* |
---|---|---|
Total number of drawing sheets of the model drawing |
%BLATTANZAHL |
@*@3,D.HIC_Blattanzahl@*@ |
Number of the active drawing sheet |
%BLATTNUMMER |
@*@3,D.HIC_Blattnummer@*@ |
Name of the active drawing sheet |
$BLATTNAME |
@*@3,D.HIC_Blattname@*@ |
Main scale of the model drawing |
$MASSSTAB |
@*@10,D.HIC_Massstab@*@ |
View scale** |
$VIEWSCALE |
@*@10,D.HIC_AnsMassstab@*@ |
* The length values are example values
** The view scale is only output if all relevant views of the drawing sheet have the same scale. Relevant are all views except axonometric workshop drawing views, views of developments of Sheet Metal parts and detail views.
Using the prefix HIC_ ensures that this data is always evaluated from the HiCAD sources when updating the drawings.
For information on how to use these attributes in the title block, see the section Variables/Attributes in the title block.
In the following example, the drawing frame DINA4H_BLECHE.FGA has been extended by the view scale and the sheet name.
In the drawing derivation, the view scale and the sheet name are then output in the individual detail drawings for Steel Engineering plates.
Analogous to general 3-D parts, from SP1 the automatisms of the Drawing Management can also be used for dummy parts. For this purpose, the selection box in the Configuration Editor at PDM > Drawing Management > Manage general 3-D parts has been extended by the option Only dummy parts.
With this option, dummy parts (e.g. foil, insulation, etc.) can also be managed and taken into account in bills of materials.
For the functions
All and
the processing sequence has changed. Analogous to the Drawing function, existing drawings are now updated first and then new drawings that are still missing are created.
For the Itemisation of locked parts parameter at PDM > Drawing Management, the texts in the selection box have been changed:
In some cases it may be useful to protect objects of the drawing management against editing with functions of HELiOS Desktop or the HELiOS PDM Ribbon in HiCAD. For example, it can be ensured that for parts and assemblies that are relevant for drawing management, the workflow functions, index management etc. of HELiOS Desktop cannot be used, but only the functions of the Drawing Management Ribbon.
To achieve this, proceed as follows:
Open the file kst_isd.ini in the HiCAD sys directory with an editor. In the section [Module] change the line
IsdStdHicadBim1 = Active="0" AllowedVersions="1" to
IsdStdHicadBim1 = Active="1" AllowedVersions="1"
This setting then has the effect that for parts and assemblies the attribute STAHLBAUAUTO is taken into account when calling the corresponding functions of the HELiOS Desktop:
This applies analogously to the corresponding functions of the HELiOS PDM Ribbon in HiCAD.
The functions at Drawing > Itemisation/Detailing are now also available in the Production function group of the Drawing Management Ribbon tab:

Definition of the item attributes to be automatically generated during the itemisation/identical part search. |
Until now, an article master for the main assembly was always created during the automatic creation of detail drawings. Since this has led to problems in various cases - for example, when forwarding to ERP systems - the creation of the article master for main assemblies in the detail drawings will be omitted from HiCAD 2021.
Note that the detail drawing and the part have the same item master. The following illustration shows the result list in HELiOS.
