Assign Pipe Class and Nominal Diameter
Plant Engineering > Pipeline Tools > Assign pipe class and nominal diameter
This function enables you to change the pipe classes and/or nominal diameters assigned to a pipeline during creation.
Function execution is influenced if a P+ID project associated with the layout plan has been loaded.
You have the following options:
If a P+ID symbol has been assigned to the pipeline and the associated P+ID has been opened:
- Change nominal diameter and/or pipe class assignments to a pipeline in the layout plan, to which components have not been assigned, to the given values in the P.
- Equate the nominal diameter and/or pipe class assignment of the pipeline symbol in the P+ID and the assigned pipe part symbol in a pipeline to which no parts have been assigned.
If any parts have already been assigned to the pipeline, HiCAD issues an appropriate message and cancels the function.
If a P+ID symbol has been assigned to the pipeline and the associated P+ID has not been loaded, or if a P+ID symbol has not been assigned:
- Change nominal diameters and/or pipe class assignments to a pipeline in the layout plan, to which no parts have been assigned. The same dialogue box which is displayed for pipeline creation appears on your screen, but in this case the input field for the name is blocked.
- Abolish nominal diameters and/or pipe class assignments to a pipeline in the layout plan, to which parts have been assigned.
HiCAD outputs the message Components have al-ready been assigned to the pipeline. If a pipe class has been assigned, you can remove the assignment by responding with Yes to the query Abolish pipe class assignment?.
The same applies to the nominal diameter: If a nominal diameter has been assigned, you can abolish the assignment by responding with Yes to the query Permanently remove nominal diameter assignment?.
Important:
The function uses for pipeline configurations the same dialogue as for pipeline creation. Here, however, the name of the configuration will never be displayed, as the part could be constructed at a different location, and a configuration file with this name may not exist at the current location, or, even if such file exists, it may have a different content. Therefore, -- Select configuration -- will always be initially displayed. To edit the settings of the pipeline, use the functions for the loading, saving and deleting of configurations.
Please note:
- Clicking
activates the Pipeline settings menu.
- Use the functions of the Check menu to check the active pipeline or - in one step - all pipelines for invalid nominal diameter matings, or regarding the part structure.
