Part Data Synchronisation - Taking Over of Existing Part Masters
Plant Engineering> Part Data Tools > Part data synchronisation
When synchronizing part data of part variants (VAA files) or fixed parts (PAA files) with the database, you can also use already existing article masters.
Proceed as follows:
Step 1: Create result list in HELiOS
First, start the HELiOS Desktop and create, via a targeted article search with suitable search criteria, a result list containing the article masters that you want to use for the part variant. Please leave this window open, as you will need it again later.
Step 2: Start part data synchronisation
- Call the Part data synchronisation function.
- In the dialogue window, activate the Allow use of existing article masters checkbox(1).
- Click File selection button and select the required VAA file (2). Here, a file has been selected that has not been entered in the database yet.
- Click Start (3).
As the Always open document master mask checkbox has not been activated, the article master mask of the general type will be displayed immediately.
The further procedure is described starting from Step 3 in the DbPlantDataImport - Utilisation of Existing Article Masters topic.
If the part variant has already been previously entered into the database, and the VAA file will only be supplemented by further data records, already existing article masters (not belonging to this variant) can only be taken over for those variant sub-types that correspond to the new data records.
