JACOB Pipe Systems - Outer Diameter and Wall Thickness

The D_AUSSEN attribute is, besides the Nominal diameter, often used as a filter criterion for variant selection during pipe part insertion. Normally, this attribute refers to the outer diameter of the pipe part. In case of the JACOB pipes, this attribute was assigned to the inner diameter, since in the supplier catalogues this inner diameter represents the dimension that is assigned to the nominal diameter and varies depending on the wall thickness. However, this deviation from the normal case does usually not cause any problems for the correct insertion of the components.

Please note, though, that some special JACOB pipe parts (e.g. push-in pipes) are not produced for all wall thicknesses, but, for example, only as a 1,5 mm version. A connection to parts with other wall thicknesses is, however, still possible. For this to happen, just deactivate the WANDDICKE (wall thickness) as a filter criterion on the Part search of the Plant Engineering Settings dialogue window.

For pull-ring connections with different wall thicknesses please always use the pull-ring of the wider variant in order to prevent collisions during insertion.
