These referencing functions on the Drawing tab are only available for parts that have already been referenced:

Functions

Use this function to reference parts subsequently.

Clicking opens a menu with further functions for the saving and expanding of feature variants.

Use this function to update referenced parts and their identical parts in one step. This may be required if you have changed a referenced part in the 3-D drawing, but have not saved it yet.

	Update active part + identical parts from file Detects all identical parts of the active part in the current drawing, and adjusts the active part and all found identical parts in one step to the state of the corresponding KRA file.
	Break up referencing, Individual Removes the referencing of the active part, the referencing of any existing individual parts will however be retained.
	Break up referencing, Individual+identical parts Removes the referencing of the active part and all its identical parts.
	Break up referencing, All parts Removes all referencings that exist in the entire 3-D drawing.

Save referenced part

Saves the current state of a referenced part. Please make sure that the part is saved to the same path where it was defined!

Further referencing functions can be found in the context menu for referenced parts.

On the Management + BIM tab of the Ribbon, this combination provides you with a wide range of functions for civil engineering design tasks, e.g. functions for referencing, itemisation, production drawing generation, BOM generation, etc. Furthermore, HiCAD title blocks, drawing frames, BOM templates and HELiOS masks for the Management + BIM module can be automaically configured for the purpose of Steel Engineering drawing management.

Please also note:

When referenced parts are saved and identical parts updated, the system settings for referenced parts are taken into account.
Once a referencing has been cancelled, the parts that have been processed in this way no longer have any reference to the corresponding KRA file. This means, in particular, that changes to this file can no longer be automatically transferred to the parts.
If a part master is assigned to a part the referencing of which is cancelled, HiCAD asks whether you want this link to be removed.
On the Information tab you can use the Geom. 3-D Identical part search , as well as the functions available via to search for referenced parts and corresponding identical parts in the drawing.
In the context menu for multiple selection, you can use the Break up referencing function to remove the referencing of several parts - even in different assemblies – in one step. Use CTRL - left mouse button to select the desired parts. Then right-click to activate the context menu and choose the Break up referencing function there.
