Dependent Parts

3-D Standard > New > Others > Dependent part

Use this function to re-insert already existing parts in a model drawing as so-called dependent parts.

A short explanation of the differences between a referenced part and a dependent part can be found here .

The function can be used on

• referenced parts and
• variant parts managed with HELiOS. HELiOS manages the geometry (so-called "general type") of the parts.

The new part will not be saved as a referenced part put a new part with the Feature Dependent part. will be created.

If the part is managed with HELiOS, no article master will be assigned to it. In the part structure the generated part will obtain the name of the document master of the original part.

All subsequent changes of the dependent parts will be saved as new features in the Feature log.

If changes are applied to the original part and a feature recalculation is carried out, the dependent part will be updated first, and then the changes from the Feature log will be applied.

Conversely, changes applied to the dependent part do not affect the original part.
