FFS from C-Edge

3-D FFS > From c-edge

The functions of this menu enable you to create freeform surfaces by transforming or projecting a curve. The curve can belong to a (planar) Sketch or a 3-D Sketch.

From c-edge

This function creates a freeform surface by moving a curve along a vector and connecting the original curve to the moved copy.

Clicking opens the Projection onto plane pull-down menu with further functions. Freeform surfaces are created by projecting an already existing c-edge onto an arbitrary plane. You have several options for the definition of the projection plane.

Creates a freeform surface by rotating a curve (3-D sketch or C-edge) about an arbitrary axis.

Move cross-section

Creates freeform surfaces by

  • connecting at least two cross-sections (which need not necessarily be planar) or
  • placing cross-sections on one or several guidelines (which may also be curved).
