Project: HELiOS PDM for Inventor
In the Input function group of the menu for the active HELiOS Part/Assembly/Drawing the scope of functions varies depending on whether an individual part, an assembly or a drawing is currently active.
Calls a dialogue window for transfer of the CAD structure to the HELiOS database. |
Use the Batch import function to import a multitude of files from a directory to HELiOS with a few mouse clicks. |
Opens a dialogue window for the deriving of the model structure (only available in the HELiOS Assembly Ribbon). |
This function allows you to apply a traceable change to the opened document, e.g. in the respective Ribbon context of the active part or assembly. |
New (Document / Article) |
Saves the opened document in the same way as the New in HELiOS function and creates a new article master and document master which will be linked subsequently. When taking over standard parts from the Inventor Content Center with this function, Family and Member IDs will be written onto the article master. Standard part recognition is only guaranteed if the document/article link exists, but will not work for a purely document-based working method. |
New (Document / Find article) |
Saves the opened document in HELiOS and creates a new document master, which is then linked with an existing article master. When you call the function, the article search mask will be displayed, enabling you to choose an article. After this, the New in HELIOS function is called, with saves the drawing document and the linked article (write-protected, i.e. it cannot be deselected here) together to the HELiOS database. If third party documents are referenced together with a drawing, they will also be offered for transfer as linked documents to the database. |
New (Document / New article index) |
This function saves the active model drawing as a new document and links it to the new index of an existing article. First the article search mask opens, allowing you to select the corresponding article. For this article, the Create index mask is called up, so that you can create a new index of the article. Then the data transfer dialogue New in HELiOS opens. If the model drawing was saved as a document using this one, the document is then linked to the previously created new article index. |
New (Document) |
Saves the opened document in HELiOS and creates a new document master. |
Link new article |
With the function call Link new article, you can create a new article (via HELiOS article input) to link it to the open document. Link existing article calls the HELiOS article search function to link, via the search function, the active document to an article already existing in the HELiOS database. Standard parts or iParts/iAssemblies are always linked in a configuration-specific way, regular parts are assigned default article masters. |
Link existing article |
New (Document / Apply article) |
Saves the opened (model) drawing in HELiOS and creates a new document master. The (model) drawing will be linked to the article of the model. (only for active drawings) |
Link drawing |
Links the drawing document to the article of the part from the drawing view. For this to happen, the existence of a corresponding drawing view is required. |
Insert external reference |
Use this function to add HELiOS documents to the Inventor structure as external reference files, e.g. Excel files for a control of the Inventor model. When you call the function, the mask for HELiOS document search will be displayed. Make a selection and confirm with OK. The selected document will then be inserted as external reference. When loading or exporting the linked Inventor documents, the also required external document will then automatically be provided by HELiOS. |
