The "Plant Engineering" Tab

The Plant Engineering functions can be found on the Plant Engineering tab of the HiCAD Ribbon.

The tab contains the following function groups:

Function group	Description
New	Insertion of new pipe parts and components, creation of new pipelines
Guideline Tools	Creation and processing of guidelines
Settings	Definition of basic Plant Engineering Settings, i.e. for part insertion, part selection, P+ID symbol assignment, links to P+ID, actions during loading/saving and for Bills of Materials (BOMs). Definition and processing of the local coordinate system Setting and removing plant unit IDs Pre-settings for part selection Activating and deactivating of pipelines
Part Tools	Processing of parts, insertion of connections and nozzles
Pipeline Tools	Processing, checking and exporting of pipelines
Evaluation	Information and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Isometry	Creation and processing of pipeline isometries
Link to P+ID	Linking 3-D layout plans to P+IDs, checking of the references and assignments
Part Data Tools	Adjustment of layout plans and the corresponding P+ID to the HELiOS database on your computer (Variant AutoSync etc.). In addition, tis function group contains the Accessory Manager, a tool enabling you to conveniently assign accessory parts to Plant Engineering parts. To be able to do this, the HiCAD catalogue needs to be selected as part data source.

If the Plant Engineering tab is not shown, select Settings > Ribbon categories. In the dialogue window, activate the Plant Engineering checkbox and, if required, the Isometry checkbox.
