Straight Stairs - Rise Variants (3-D SE)
Steel Engineering > Stairs/Railings > Industrial staircase
If you choose OK to exit the Straight
stairs tab, HiCAD asks you to identify the stair start and/or the
stair end, depending on the selected stairwell boundary. HiCAD automatically
determines all possible rise variants for your stairs and makes them available
to you for selection. The number of variants displayed depends on the
settings for stairs.
You choose a variant by clicking the corresponding Number
of rises ... button.
For each determined variant, HiCAD displays stair information which
is regarded as a guideline for the stairs being easily negotiable.
- Tread
(t)
Step width minus the nose overhang
- Rise (r)
Height from step to step
- 2r
+ t
Rise (r) and tread (t) are in particular proportion
to a human's step. A value of around 630 applies to stairs being
easily negotiable.
- Rise
angle
A value between 30° and 45° applies to stairs being easily negotiable.
- Rise
/ tread ratio
The ratio of rise to tread r : t should be between 1:1.73 and 1:1.
- Distance to stair start
You can change this value subsequently. The value is predefined so
that the distance from the stair start is equal to the distance from the
stair end. Enter the new value, if desired. Click Preview. HiCAD checks
the value you have entered and may issue an error message
Stair contour with steps (top
view), (1) Distance from stair start, (2) Tread lines, (3) Distance from stair end
- Stair
data
You return to entering the stair
parameters and can make any changes required there.
- Preview
A preview of the stairs is displayed.
- Fit
The stairs are fitted, taking into account the data you have entered.
