Insertion Options - Insert Perpendicular to Processing Plane (3-D SE)

Steel Engineering > New > Insert new standard beam

The beams here are inserted in z-direction, perpendicular to the current processing plane. If no processing plane exists, the xy-plane of the world coordinate system is used.

This option then provides the following ways of inserting the beam:

If the Insert via point and length option is active and a beam length is specified in the input field, the beam is then generated as soon as the start point has been specified. The direction of the beam is determined by the sign of the beam length. If the value is positive, the beam is inserted in positive z-direction; if not, it is inserted in negative z-direction.

If the Insert via 2 points option is active, HiCAD asks you to specify the start and end points for insertion of the beam.

The beam is inserted by specifying the start and end points. The start point defines the position of the beam, the end point its length.
