The List Generator in the P+ID module enables the creation of lists of symbol data contained in the P+ID as well as any linked part data in a wide range of different lists.

The BOM file *.SLI is a temporary file saved with the project to the *.RPA file.

The List function group on the P+ID tab contains the following functions:

Functions		Description
	Create list	Use this function to generate a new Bill of Materials(BOM).
Pull-down menu List
	Generate graphical list	Executes the functions New list and New sheet in sequence. Some of the input masks are however suppressed during the process.
	Lists from set	This function enables you to create a number of graphical lists at the press of a button, no entries are expected. Graphical Lists are created for all list definitions files belonging to the list set file.
	Update all lists	This function updates all lists belonging to the current project for which a sheet and/or a file has been created. Lists inserted via the functions Insert in sheet and On new sheet are not updated.
	New list definition	Use the dialogue box called with this function to create a new list definition.
	Edit set	By editing the list set files you can specify which lists are to be created with the Lists from set function.
	Show list	This function enables you to display a BOM by opening a SLI file. The BOM is then displayed in the Report Manager.
	Insert list on sheet	Inserts a graphical list into the active sheet.
	Insert list on new sheet	Generates a graphical list on one or several sheets, which are created specifically for the list.
	Delete list	Deletes list output files.

In older HiCAD versions, only symbols with part assignment appeared in the lists, Since version 1212.1, you can also create lists containing symbols with and without part assignment.

Please note:

List definitions containing database part attributes, now always need to contain a row for the dialogue type 80, Database Part ID.
If only symbols with part ID are to be included, a * needs to be entered in the Conditions column for dialogue type 80. The list definition GER_LD1_COMPONENTS2 is an example for this. All supplied BOM definitions have been adapted appropriately.
If you want to include symbols with and without part assignment, no character must be entered in the Conditions column for dialogue type 80.

Please expand the created BOM definitions accordingly, if required.

Evaluation of attribute code

Since version 1212.1, the second digit of the attribute code will no longer be used for the determination of the maximum length of the transferred text. Generally, a maximum of 255 characters of the attribute content can be taken over.

Handling of quotation marks

If a dialogue text or an attribute text contains double quotation marks ("), the will be replaced by two single quotation marks (') in the BOM. This is necessary, because the Report Manager does not allow double quotation marks in the transferred character strings.

Temporary files

During BOM generation, temporary files with the extensions .ERG, .RFZ and .SRT. are created. These files are now no longer written into the folder of the active project, but into ...\TEMP folder.
