New Sheet (P+ID)

P+ID > P+ID Sheet > New sheet

If a new blank sheet should be created, you first need to enter the master sheet data in the displayed mask.

If you are working with the database, the information in the database is automatically taken over. The Sheet No., Sheet index and Designation (sheet) can be changed.

If you are working without database, the file name is automatically assigned. For the sheet number, HiCAD suggests the next highest number to that previously assigned, while 0 is always suggested for the sheet index. You can enter an optional combination of sheet and index numbers as long as they have not already been assigned.

Please note:

The selection of sheet and index numbers influences path numbering on sheets: Path numbering is determined by pre-set and specified numbers, while the sheet position is determined by specified values, i.e. values set for Sheet No. and Index. If sheet with a higher number already exist, it is possible that the path numbers are changed. In this case, references are automatically adapted for the entire project.

If drawing numbers are automatically generated, the Drawing No. field is locked.

The current system date is automatically entered, but can be overwritten.

The mask offers the following buttons:

  1. Select the project from which the sheet should be copied.
  2. Select the appropriate sheet. If you do not want to accept a sheet, click Cancel when the master data mask for the sheet appears on your screen. Click OK to copy the sheet to the current project. The appearance of the sheet when it is loaded is identical to the way it looked in the original project.
  3. When the sheet is loaded the master data mask for the copy in the current project appears on your screen, thus enabling you to enter the required specifications. If you click OK, the sheet is adapted for the current project; this can be clearly seen as the project name in the title block is changed.
  • The contents of the title block in the drawing frame is adapted to correspond with the given master data
  • Path numbers are based on pre-set values and sheet position, i.e. sheet and index numbers respectively (path allocation remains unchanged!). It is also possible that the path number of existing sheets with higher sheet designations is changed.
  • References are automatically modified for the entire project.
  • The assigning of symbols to superior or subordinate symbols that are not on the current sheet is cancelled.
  • All entries in symbol masks called by reference-capable symbols of the type Discontinuation symbol are deleted.
  • If an ID according to DIN has been specified, the symbol name is updated according to the current sheet designation and path number.
