The Menu Bar

The Menu Bar enables you to use the functions of the following menus:

File
Data
View
? (Help/Info)

Most functions of the Report Manager can also be activated via the Toolbar.

File

Function	Description
Back to HiCAD	Switches back to HiCAD
Open	Opens a Report Manager file (extension .RM3) This function only applies to external calls of the Report Manager!
Settings	Activates the Settings menu
Exit	Exits the Report Manager

Data

Function	Description
Sort	Sorts BOMs according to the sorting criteria specified via the Settings function
Expand all levels	Opens all part structure levels, i.e all sub parts will be displayed as well (does not apply to quantity lists)
Expand one level	Opens the next respective part structure level (does not apply to quantity lists)
Collapse all levels	Closes all part structure levels, i.e. only main parts will be displayed (does not apply to quantity lists)
Collapse one level	Closes the part structure level by level (does not apply to quantity lists)
Export, MS Excel format	Transfers all data items visible in the list to an Excel file (.XLS)
Export, Text format	Transfers the data specified via Settings/Export (Text) to a text file
Export, HTML-Format	Transfers the data specified via Settings/Export (HTML) to a HTML file
Filter	Filters the data shown in the list view according to defined criteria
Print	Prints out the data items visible in the list

View

Function	Description
Docking window	Hides/shows the docking window
Structure list	Displays the Structure List
Quantity list	Displays the Quantity List
GUI representation	HiCAD provides various styles for the representation of the GUI. On the menu bar, choose View > GUI representation and select the desired style. Styles

Help/Info

Function	Description
Help	Activates the Help function of the Report Manager.
Info	Displays information on the current version.
Automation Server	The HiCAD Report manager has a COM interface, which enables the user to operate the Report Manager via other applications as well, such as MS Word, MS Excel or Visual Basic. A registration is required for the use of the COM interface and the HiCAD Print Server.

Automation Server

A registration is required for the use of the COM interface and the HiCAD Print Server.

Please note:

Administrator rights are required for the registration of the COM server on your computer.
The Report Manager should only be accessed via Visual Basic scripts if the user has sufficient programming skills.
