JACOB Pipe Systems - Using the Variants (PE)
|
The constant expansion of available Plant Engineering variants enables an increased utilisation of pre-designed standard parts during planning and construction of pipeline systems. A growing number of special pipe parts provides more and more possibilities for a direct utilisation as well as for the deriving of new variants from these parts.
|
This chapter deals with the utilisation of the JACOB pipe systems which have been made available in HiCAD since 2015, and the mechanisms required for their handling, thus giving you an introduction into the new functions and features in connection with these pipe systems.
Due to various special characteristics of these pipe parts, some procedures are slightly different from those you have known in connection with common Plant Engineering variants. This applies in particular to the pull-ring system, which required the introduction of the part type Fasteners. The utilisation of this part type enables, besides the use of the pull-rings needed for the JACOB pipe systems, the conception of your own, individual connection systems.
- Part Variant Classification
This topic gives a brief description of how the modular system of the JACOB variants works, and servers primarily the purpose of representing the variants constructed from the supplier catalogue. All variants shown in the tables will be ready for insertion after their import to the database or the catalogue. The JACOB series is divided into two different connection systems here: The pull-ring connection and the normal flange connection.
- Flange Dimensions of Pull-Ring Connections
This topic provides a more deteiled explanation of the interactions between pipe parts, seals and pull-rings. The table of the flange dimensions supplies the required basis for the insertion of fasteners(here: JACOB Pull-rings) explained in the topic Using Fasteners.
- Using Push-In Pipes
This topic refers in particular to the JACOB Push-in pipes that are used to adjust fitting lengths. Due to the necessity of special fasteners, the procedure for the insertion of these parts deviates from that for other JACOB variants. Here you will find a short description of the correct pipe insertion procedure for both connection types.
- Attributes of Variants
This topic describes special characteristics concerning the attributes selected in the variant archive file.
