Create and Edit Sheet Areas (3-D)

In the sheet area the production drawings are displayed. Production drawings can also be output on several sheets if you define several sheet areas.

Create new Sheet area

1. In the ICN, right-click the name of the active Sheet area Sheetn.
2. In the context menu, choose the Sheet area, new function. HiCAD automatically creates a new Sheet area with the next possible sheet number.
3. Right-click the name of the new Sheet area.
4. Choose the New view function to define an initial view for the Sheet area.

Please note that the Sheet area, New function is only available if a sheet view is active. Therefore, activate a sheet view beforehand or right-click Sheetn and select Activate.

Edit sheet area

To be able to edit a Sheet area, you first need to activate it. To do this, right-click its name and select Activate. You can also click one of the views of the Sheet area in the ICN.

When you now right-click the name of the active Sheet area, a context menu with various editing functions will be opened. The content of the menu depnds on the current editing situation.

• Arrange
  Arranges the views of the active Sheet area - first, the normal views according to DIN, and then the other views.
• Change number 
  Changes the number of the active Sheet area. Specify a new Sheet number. If a Sheet area with this number already exists, the next possible number will be used.

• Change all numbers
  Changes the numbers of all Sheets. The first number is freely selectable. The other numbers will be assigned consecutively, in the display order of the Sheet areas.
• Sort, ascending 
  Sorts the Sheet areas by Sheet numbers in ascending order, e.g. after changing of Sheet numbers or after Drag & Drop actions.
  

• Delete 
  Deletes the active Sheet. Multiple selections (click while holding down the CTRL or SHIFT button) can also be deleted.
• New 
  Defines a new Sheet area.
• Update 
  Updates all views in the Sheet areas, e.g. after modifications of the drawing.
• Activate
  Activates the marked Sheet area.

You can also change Sheet numbers for multiple selections (click while holding down the CTRL or SHIFT button). Right-click the selected Sheet areas, select Change numbers and choose a possible Sheet number (i.e. a number that does not exist yet). The selected Sheet areas will then be numbered consecutively, in the display order of the Sheet areas.

The display order of the Sheet areas can be changed conveniently via Drag & Drop. You can move individual Sheet areas as well as several Sheet areas in one step.

The display order of the Sheet areas will be saved together with the drawing.
