HiCAD 2010 - New in Steel Engineering (3-D SE)
Steel Engineering Connections
- Design Variants for double-sided column connections - symmetrical and asymmetrical - according to DAST IS (SP1)
- Design Variants for double-sided angle connections according to DAST IW (SP1)
- Design Variants for base plates and anchor plates (SP1)
- Enhanced Steel Engineering connections providing more flexibility in various fitting situations
- Definition of complete parameter sets for connections, re-use for similar situations
- You can now also use the girder connection according to DAST IW (305) in case of perpendicular flanges. Furthermore, the maximum number of vertical bolt rows has been increased to 5.
Part annotation
- Automatic collision-free and space-saving annotation of all parts and assemblies of a view.
- Individual and flexible definition of annotation parameters
Workshop Drawings
The functionality for Workshop Drawing creation has been completely redesigned and significantly enhanced:
- Output to a new or existing sheet area of the active drawing
- Output to a new drawing
- Extended selection options for the parts in the automatically created workshop drawing (all parts, active part list, select individually)
- Management of all views of a part or an assembly in a view group. Many new functionalities are available for view groups such as:
- Frames around entire view groups for an unambiguous assignment of all drawing views of a part
- Automatic arrangement of all views within a view group with various configuration parameters (e.g. horizontal/vertical distances between views)
- Total scale for all views in a view group. Individual views can however still be assigned an individual view scale.
- Automatic generation of a drawing BOM for all parts in a view group
- Optimal arrangement of views
- Spreading of production drawings over several drawing sheets, with drawing frames
- Automatic integration of assembly-BOMs
- Automatic annotation of 3-D weld seams. This option can be switched on or off via Drawing, Workshop > Change settings > Settings for views.
- As an alternative to side views, you can also create sectional views
- Individual dimensioning settings for workshop and detail drawings
Standard Parts / Standard Processings
- Invalid or replaced standards are identified by the
symbol.
- Multiple linear fitting of Standard Parts between 2 points, enabling you to insert linear rows of bores along a beam axis.
Beam annotations
You can now copy ("clone") beam annotations and assign them to other beams and profiles. To do this, use the Clone function in the context menu.
Other new functions and enhancements
- If the BOM-relevance of an assembly is removed, the assembly main part ID is retained (SP1).
- When loading series beams from the FACTORY STANDARDS > SERIES catalogue, the user-defined columns CUSTOM1 and CUSTOM2 are (if available) also evaluated. These can, for instance, be used for links to ERP systems. (SP1).
- You can now use the STB_PARAMETER to separately set the number of decimal places for cutting angle specifications
- When processing beams to which an item number has already been assigned, the item number will be marked with a negative sign after processing. When changing part attributes, the negative sign will only be applied if the attributes is taken into account for identical part search.
- New catalogue for bulb plates
- You can now also take over cross-sections of beams derived from sketches.
- Dimensioning and annotation of countersinks (e.g. DIN 74), including standard processing and nominal diameter
- User-defined part attribute masks for beams and plates
- API support for Steel Engineering constructions
- DSTV-BOM output via API script
