Bore Patterns (3-D)

Insert bore pattern

3-D Standard > Standard Processings > Bore > Bore pattern

This function enables you to insert individual bore patterns, which must be contained in the Bore Patterns factory standards catalogue.

To insert a bore pattern, proceed as follows:

  1. Activate the Bore pattern function.
  2. The Settings dialogue window for bore patterns is displayed (if you have not activated the Suppress window checkbox in the settings). Make the settings you want and choose OK to exit the window.
  3. Define the processing plane, if required.
  4. The catalogue system for bore patterns opens. Select the catalogue you want.
  5. Choose the table you want by clicking the relevant symbol or the list entry.
  6. The right-hand window displays a list of values in which the bore is available. Choose the value you want and click OK to exit the catalogue system.
  7. In the Grid toolbar, choose the desired fitting type - individual or multiple on a linear, polar or radial grid - and, if required, enter the desired values.

The BORE PATTERNS catalogue is shipped with an ISD example, and additional bores can be added to it, as required.

Define bore patterns

Bore patterns are 2-D parts that are parameterised with the 2-D HCM. The HiCAD catalogue editor (CATEDIT.EXE) is then used to include the variants created with the HCM in the BORE PATTERNS catalogue, which means that they are then available as bores in HiCAD.

Proceed as follows:

  1. Create the 2-D part and parameterise it with the 2-D HCM.
  2. Save the HCM model in the HiCAD folder KATALOGE\WERKSNORMEN\MUSTERBOHRUNGRN
  3. Start the catalogue editor by calling CATEDIT.EXE in the HiCAD EXE directory.
  4. Open the BORE PATTERNS table and create a new table for the bore pattern.
  5. Create the desired data records. Note that the table must contain a column for each of the variables used in the HCM model.
  6. Save the table. The new bores will then be available to you in HiCAD.

The Online Help of the catalogue editor contains detailed information on enhancing the standard part catalogues and tables.
