The dimension parameter settings determine how a dimensioning is structured. To change the default settings permanently, click the Settings icon at the top right of the window, then select Settings > Basic settings > General > Dimensioning. Edit the relevant fields and click Exit to close the Settings window.
Normally, these changes only take effect when you re-start HiCAD. However,
you can select, via the Process > Extras , the Reload
new parameter list function, which activates the settings immediately.
The file BEMPAR.DAT in the HiCAD subdirectory SYS contains the default settings for the dimension parameters. If the basic settings are changed, this file is overwritten with the changes. The parameters predefined by ISD are automatically saved in the file BEMPAR.ORI. This ensures that you are able to reload these settings at any time.
2-D Dimensioning + Text > Process > Settings
Use the following functions if you want to make temporary changes to the settings:
2-D Dimensioning + Text > Process > Dimensioning settings
You use this function to activate the Dimensioning Parameters window. By selecting the relevant
tab, you can set all dimension parameters.
The changes affect all new 2-D dimensions (e.g. Variable, Axially parallel, Individual dimensions). When you end HiCAD, the default values are re-activated.
The prompt Change all parameters? appears. If you answer YES, all the current parameter window settings are applied; if you answer NO, only the parameters you have changed are applied.
All new dimensionings are now assigned the changed parameters.
2-D Dimensioning + Text > Process > Settings > Same as reference dimension
You use this function to apply the parameters of an existing dimensioning.
2-D Dimensioning + Text > Process > Settings > Default
This function enables you to load the basic setting from the file BEMPAR.DAT.
