Standard Parts and HELiOS (PDM)

When you work with HELiOS, you can conveniently assign appropriate part master data to the parts you created. This is more difficult for parts which are inserted via catalogues, because these parts are usually purchased and/or semi-finished parts. To avoid a time-consuming manual assigning of part master data to each part inserted via the catalogue, the Catalogue Editor offers the option to make such assignment directly in the catalogue, i.e. it is possible to assign master part data of the PDM system HELiOS to the parts of the standard parts or beam/profile catalogues.

To be able to make the assignments you need to be connected to HELiOS. To ensure connection to HELiOS, use the command Connect upon program launch or Login in the HELiOS menu.

Attention:

Up to and including HiCAD/HELiOS Version 2008, the assignments between standard parts and part master data was managed via the WINNORMDB3.EXE program. As of Version 2009, this program will no longer be available. Instead, the appropriate functionality is now provided by the HELiOS functions of the Catalogue Editor.
