First Customizations at HiCAD Start
When you first start HiCAD, theStart Centre is displayed, which is designed to make it easier for you to get started on modelling. It enables you to preset a start action for HiCAD as well as options for creating new drawings and loading existing ones.

New drawing |
A new drawing can be created with or without a database. If you create the drawing with a database, you can create a new article master or select an existing one. |

Setting options for a new drawing. Activate the Main assembly for 3-D assembly designs. Setting the Scale for the drawing and the Start mode. The View projection, View representation and Processing planes can only be set for 3-D drawings. |

Open drawing |
You can determine whether a drawing is to be opened via the Explorer, the database or via an interface. |
If you choose OK to exit the Start Centre, the current settings are used as the default
setting. If, on the other hand, you exit the Start Centre by using the
ESC key or by selecting the 
icon at the top right, the settings are ignored.
