The Attribute Editor
To start the Attribute Editor, either double-click the hel_attreditor.exe in the EXE directory, or choose Admin Tools > Attribute Editor in the HELiOS Desktop.
Please note that attributes are class-related, i.e. that an attribute (e.g. Designation) can have different meanings in Document, Article, or Project masks.
The Attribute Editor is divided into the following three areas:
- Create user-defined attributes
- User-defined object types
- Advanced functions
Specifies the language for the database.
- Activate Add to select a language.
- Select a language from the list and confirm with OK.
Click Delete to remove the language.
You can use the Attribute Editor to define objects (e.g. Supplier, Employee...) and their properties (e.g. name, date). These properties are referred to as attributes. You are enabled to define further properties for the attributes, e.g. if the attribute is mandatory (so-called "must" attributes). If so, you always need to specify a value for this attribute. You can also specify if the attributes may be changed at a later time. Attributes can also be updated automatically. All these options are centrally made available and controlled in the attribute management.
The following options are available:
- Change attributes
- Delete attributes
- Manage attributes
- Reference attributes
- Transfer data
- Manage indices
- Attribute link
- Multi-language attribute designations
Furthermore, you can use the Attribute Editor to edit entries in the detail masks and input masks or to define new ones. The procedure is identical. The attributes will be activated after restarting the HELiOS Desktop.
