Itemisation (3-D SE)

Drawing > Itemisation/Detailing > Itemise

The itemisation of parts, i.e. the assigning of item numbers to them, is a prerequisite for the creation of workshop drawings and Bills of Materials.

Use the Itemisation function to automatically assign item numbers to all BOM-relevant parts, using the settings defined under Change parameters.

Clicking opens a menu with further functions.

Automatic identical part search and itemisation, with current parameters

Automatically assigns item numbers to Steel Engineering parts, using the settings defined via Change parameters.

During automatic itemisation you can automatically assign the usages Girder (beam) assembly or Column assembly to Steel Engineering assemblies. For this to happen, open the Configuration Editor and set the parameter at Steel Engineering > Usage accordingly.

  • Assign usages COLUMN or BEAM (girder) automatically
If this checkbox is active, the Girder (beam) assembly or Column assembly usage will be automatically assigned to Steel Engineering assemblies - depending on the position of the Steel Engineering main part in the assembly. The checkbox is deactivated by default.
  • Alignment for columns
Here you select the axis for the alignment of the columns (Default: Z-axis). Beams with this alignment will be recognized as columns, beams standing perpendicular to them as girders.
  • Allowed angle deviation of beams from defined alignment (in degrees)
This value determines up to how many degrees the axis of a beam is allowed to deviate from the axis specified at Alignment for columns parameter for the beam to be still recognized as a column (Default: 0).

Automatic identical part search and itemisation, change parameters

Queries the parameter settings and then assigns the item numbers.

Automatic identical part search and itemisation of individual parts, with current parameters

Assigns item numbers to individual parts.

  1. Identify the part. The Individual itemisation dialogue window will be displayed:

  1. Specify the item number.
  2. If you want to check whether the item number already exists, activate the Check conflicts with existing item numbers checkbox.
  3. If you want to itemise identical parts of the active part as well (if there are any), activate the Also itemise all identical parts checkbox .

If the active part already has an item number, it will be shown to you for modification. It will also be shown whether there are identical parts with this number.

Change parameters

Changes the default settings for itemisation.

Information, Highlight parts with same item number

Finds and highlight all parts that have the same item number as the identified part.

Information, Highlight part with specified item number

Finds and highlights all parts with a specified item number.

Delete item numbers, Part

Deletes the item number of individual parts. Item numbers of the sub-parts of identified part are retained.

Delete item numbers, Part+Sub-parts

Deletes the item numbers of individual parts. The item numbers of the sub-parts of an identified part are also deleted.

Delete item numbers, All

Deletes all item numbers of all steel engineering parts.

Important:

If you use a Steel Engineering suite or a Steel Engineering module in conjunction with HELiOS Engineer+, please read the information given in the Management + BIM Online Help!
