Solid Primitives (3-D)

3-D Standard > New > Solid primitive

You use the functions of the Solid primitive menu to create cuboids, prisms, pyramids and tetrahedrons as well as cylinders, cones, spheres and toruses - either as solid bodies or hollow bodies. You can also create segments and hollow segments for cylinders, cones, spheres and toruses. In all cases, the solids can be inserted as main parts or sub-parts.

Solid primitives are created according to the following process flow:

  1. Choose the solid primitive type you want, e.g. Cuboid .
  2. Enter the Article number.
  3. Activate or deactivate the Reference and Featurecheckboxes.
  4. Activate the BOM-relevant checkbox in order to automatically assign this attribute to the created solid primitive.
  5. Choose the body type, e.g. Hollow to create a hollow body or Segment to create a solid body segment. The icon bar in the input window will be exchanged accordingly.
  6. Choose the Preview or Points direct mode.
  7. If you have chosen the Preview mode, enter the sizes of the solid primitive in the corresponding value input fields. HiCAD immediately displays the relevant preview in the drawing. Then position the part in the drawing. The fitting point of the solid will be placed in this point. The fitting point depends on the primitive solid type in question.

In the Points direct mode, the value input fields are inactive. In this case, define the part by specifying points, e.g. a cuboid by specifying the start and end points of the space diagonal.
