Batch Import (Drawings)

In the HELiOS menu of SOLIDWORKS you will find the Batch import (Models) function as well as the Batch import (Drawings). button when the module is not active.

This function can be used to import "associated" drawings that were not imported during the previous batch import due to the naming convention.

Please note:

As with the transfer of the CAD model structure to the HELiOS database using the New in HELiOS function, the prerequisite for the transfer of drawings linked to a part or an assembly is that the drawing is located in the same directory as the corresponding part or assembly and has been given the same file name before the file extension.

The file name before the extension does not necessarily have to be identical. (Example: The assembly "Assembly.SLDASM" includes the drawing "Assembly.SLDDRW" ), but linked drawings are also recognized if they begin with the same name as the corresponding part, for example The file names of the drawings result from a specific part name plus a number suffix. This means that for a "Part.SLDPRT" the drawing "Part-01.SLDDRW" is found and assigned accordingly.

The same selection dialogue window opens in the directory from which Batch import (Models) was last executed with a list of all drawing files located there.

These files are checked for references of a model affiliation and if available, after confirming with OK, they are imported into HELiOS and linked to corresponding parts or assemblies.

The model of the first drawing view is always taken into account.

As with the Batch import (Models) a log file can be displayed after the import process.
