HELiOS Menu: Documents

The Documents function group of the HELiOS menu contains a sub-menu for the opening and editing of documents as well as for the showing of the session documents.

Open and Edit

Opens a part, an assembly, or a drawing from the database via document search.

Open (read-only) 

Documents opened with this function will be opened in read-only mode.

Documents in session

Displays an overview of the documents opened in the current session. If desired, right-click to remove individual documents or all objects from the session.

The colour of documents in the list indicates the status of your database access options:

  • Black: The document can be loaded into Inventor in read-only mode . Loaded will be the last saved state of the document. With "Vault-check out", the document will be loaded into the session for editing and will be marked green (for further information please read the chapter Helios Dokument).
  • Green: The document can be accessed and edited by the user ("check out") in HELiOS. Loaded will be the current database state of the document. The document will be locked (i.e. write-protected) for all other users.
