Information - Angles

Information > 3-D angle

Using the functions of this menu, you can detect angles between arbitrary points, edges and planes of the drawing.

Information, Angle 2 planes

Detects an angle between two planes.

Information, Angle 2 edges

Detects the value of an angle between two edges.

Clicking opens a pull-down menu with the following functions:

Information, Angle Edge to X-axis

Detects an angle between an edge and the x-axis (the same for the y- and the z-axis).

Information, Angle Edge to Y-axis

Information, Angle Edge to Z-axis

Information, Angle about arbitrary axis

Detects angles between two edges with respect to an arbitrary rotation axis.

Identify the rotation axis and then determine the two legs. The function calculates the angle around which the plane determined by the rotation axis and the first leg needs to be rotated so that it lies in the plane determined by the rotation axis and the second leg.

Information, Angle 3 points

Detects an angle defined by three points. The first point determines the 1st leg, the second the vertex and the third point the 2nd leg.

Information, Angle Edge - Plane

Detects an angle between an edge and a plane.

Information, Aperture angle

Detects the aperture angle of a cone.

The following output options are available for the calculated angle (example angle: 30°):
