Patran
Drawing > Plugins > Analysis with Patran
Drawings and parts can be exported from HiCAD to Patran.
Open the Drawing tab and select Plugins > Analysis with Patran Choose one of the following options:
- Active part (only the active part including all sub-parts will be exported to Patran)
- Selected parts (only a defined part list will be exported)
- Entire drawing
Patran will be launched automatically. Depending the previous selection, the active part, a defined part list , or the entire HiCAD drawing will then be imported and opened in Patran.
Please note:
Extended settings of the MSC Patran interface can be defined via the Configuration Editor (ISDConfigEditor.exe).
In the Configuration Editor, select HiCAD > Active configuration > Interfaces > MSC Patran .
Here you can change the Exchange format (for STL, CATIA VS, ACIS, Parasolid, IGES, or ProE; Default ist STEP), set Patran Command Line options, and the Path to Patran (patran.exe).
A prerequisite for this is that the MSC software Patran has been installed on the same system as HiCAD.
