Project: HiCAD P+ID
P+ID Symbol
In this chapter, the functions needed for creating and processing your own library symbols.
Before creating a new Library symbol, you need to make sure that a library exists to which you can save the new symbol. You should always save your own symbols to your own symbol libraries, and not to the supplied standard libraries.
The functions for the management and processing of library symbols can be found on the P+ID Symbol tab.

Description |
---|---|---|
Function group: Symbol |
Use this function to create a new library symbol with the 2-D Geometry functions. |
Invoke this function to load and process a library symbol from an optional symbol library. |
This function enables you to save a library symbol to a pre-determined group in the given symbol library. |
Function group: Settings |
This function enables you to process the attribute and dialogue type definitions saved in the current configuration. The corresponding name is shown in the title bar of the window. |
This function enables you to set text parameter for graphic representation of dialogue. When you activate the function, the Symbol text parameters dialogue appears on the screen. |
Function group: Dialogue text |
When you invoke this function, the data mask of the library symbol is displayed. In the case of a newly created symbol, the mask is initially empty. |
Use this function to copy the contents of the data mask of a different library symbol to the current data mask. |
This option determines the position of dialogue text entries that are graphically output to symbols. |
This function enables you to move existing dialogue text place holders on a symbol. |
Function group: Process |
Invoke this function and add connecting points, a fitting point and text place holders to complete the symbol. |

Mirror symbol on horizontal line Mirror symbol on vertical line |
A symbol can be mirrored horizontally or vertically on an arbitrary axis. Select the required option and specify the position of the mirror axis. |
This option enables you to insert the graphic of an existing library symbol in the symbol currently being processed. |
