Project: HiCAD P+ID

Drawing Frame

Drawing frames are created in accordance with the appropriate frames of the same size from the HiCAD_SF library. The newly created frame may only differ from the original concept in that the title block area can be optionally divided and graphically designed. The Position dialogue text function enables place holders to be assigned to the title block for future text entries. The data mask of this title block symbol must contain exactly the same dialogue types as those in the data mask of the appropriate symbol in the HiCAD_SF library. However not all dialogue types must be taken over in the title block, i.e. you need not set a mask item for all dialogue types.

Use the New library symbol. function to create a new drawing frame. Proceed as follows:.

  1. Specify the symbol name SFDINx ('x' stands for „A0“,"A1", "A2", etc.), and the Title block symbol type;
  2. Set a suitable grid size (via toolbar 2-D Geometry functions > Construction Aids > Point grid On).
  3. Use the functions provided by the Others sub-menu of the Symbol function group to create the graphic for the frame.

If required, you can use the graphic of another title block symbol or of a HiCAD part from a .FGA file.

  1. You now need to create a symbol mask, i.e. invoke the Load data mask from symbol library to fetch the data mask contents of the symbol with the same name from the HICAD_SF library and edit it with the Edit mask function.
  2. Invoke the Position dialogue texts, function and specify the position of title block text.
  3. Set the symbolFitting point on the lower left corner of the drawing frame.
  4. If necessary process the graphic text or parameter.
  5. Save the symbol to a title block library.
