Bend Zone Representation

There are 3 different types of bend zones in HiCAD:

• Old Sheet Metal parts with segmented surface bend zones
• Old Sheet Metal parts with segmented, cylindrical bend zones
• New Sheet Metal parts with cylindrical bend zones

When attaching a new flange to a sheet metal part, HiCAD will automatically recognize which bend zone type was used, and change the setting accordingly.

To change the default setting, Bend zones, cylindrical: Without segmentation, open the Configuration Editor, go to Sheet Metal > Default setting and change the parameter Bend zones, cylindrical accordingly.

Restart HiCAD to apply the change to new Sheet Metal parts.

Please note:

During identical part search (itemization, referencing, ...) sheets with equal contours, but different bend zone representation will be considered as different parts.

A conversion of segmented bend zones to non-segmented bend zones is not possible, as otherwise a recalculation of features regarding the bend zone would no longer be possible.
