- Activate the Activate space mouse checkbox in the HiCAD Extras menu.
- To use the space mouse, activate it directly by pressing the operating button.

Functions of the mouse joystick:
- Tilt/Rotate: Rotate view
- Left/right: Move to left/right
- Push: Maximise area
- Pull: Minimize area
- Press down: Move down
- Pull up: Move up
Functions of the mouse buttons:
- 4: Switch between views
(for active rotation mode) - 5: Rotate slower
- 6: Rotate faster
Please note the following:
- If you select HiCAD when installing the mouse driver, the other buttons of the space mouse are pre-set to HiCAD-specific functions. This pre-setting is displayed in the Button functions tab. However, the HiCAD-specific functions can only be executed if the rotation mode is inactive.
- The moving of objects ("panning") with the Space Mouse applies to the entire drawing, and not just to the active view. This means that you do not move a view in the drawing, but the entire drawing on the screen.
- During rotating the fixed point will be shown in the graphic. The 2-D mouse cursor is represented by a small cross (Windows cursor), not as a rotation symbol.
- If no Space Mouse has been connected, no message will appear when HiCAD is started. The message will only appear when you attempt to activate the mouse.
